Frequently asked questions

Lensus is software for winter service and green space maintenance by Rontex GmbH. It combines a control centre, route planning, a driver app and a digital log book in one system: you plan and manage your routes in the browser-based control centre, your drivers work with the app for iOS and Android, and every job is documented automatically with GPS, timestamp and photo. Developed from 30 years of hands-on winter service experience.
For the entire winter service industry – from one-person businesses to large service providers. Whether caretaker services, landscaping or facility management: plans range from 1–5 users up to individual solutions for businesses with more than 30 users.
The log book is the legally relevant proof for every clearing and gritting operation – when, where, who and what was spread. Lensus completely replaces the handwritten paper log book with automatic digital documentation including GPS stamp, timestamp and photo documentation. Data is retrievable at any time and exportable as PDF – with significantly higher evidential value than a handwritten entry.
No. The control centre runs in the browser – no installation, on any PC or laptop. Your drivers use the Lensus app on their iOS or Android smartphone.
No. Lensus works completely independently of the vehicle technology used. The software runs via the drivers' smartphone app – regardless of which vehicles you use.
Yes. The app stores all relevant data locally on the device and syncs as soon as a connection is restored. GPS recording and photo documentation work even without mobile network.
The driver app is available in 10 languages: German, English, Spanish, French, Polish, Czech, Ukrainian, Russian, Turkish and Arabic. Every driver sets their own language – so new or seasonal drivers understand routes and property notes right away.
In Lensus you draw walkways, car parks and driveways directly in the map view. The software calculates the square metres automatically, and you transfer the areas straight into your quote. You can mark hazards or salt storage at the same time.
Almost everything recorded in Lensus can be analysed – for example job overviews, property overviews, profitability per client or complaint reports. That way you see at a glance which properties pay off and where problems occur.
Yes, if you want them to. With the optional client access, property managers and other clients can see whether and when a job was completed – for example when tenants complain. Access is voluntary: you only enable it if your client wants more oversight.
Yes. You can import existing property lists directly from Excel. From the Professional plan upwards, Lensus can also optionally be connected to your existing programs via interfaces – talk to us about your software.
Most businesses are fully set up within 1–3 days. Existing property lists can be imported. We support you through onboarding – no on-site visit required.
Pricing is based on the number of users – in the office and on the vehicle alike. There are four plans (1–5, 6–10, 11–20 and 21–30 users); above 30 users we put together an individual offer. Every feature is included in every plan, plus priority support and optional interfaces to your existing programs from the Professional plan upwards. We explain exact terms transparently in the demo session. No hidden costs, no minimum contract periods.
Yes. You can test Lensus in a free demo version with no obligation. We are also happy to show you the software in a personal consultation – tailored to your properties and routes.
Yes. Lensus is not purely winter software: green space maintenance can be enabled as an option. Route planning, driver app and documentation then work just as well for mowing, hedge trimming or other maintenance services – all year round. Just ask us.
Yes. Lensus meets all GDPR requirements. Data is stored on German servers. We're happy to discuss data protection and processing details in the demo session.
Yes – that's exactly what Lensus was built for. You can see in real time which driver has capacity, redistribute the route in seconds, and the driver gets the change instantly on their smartphone.
In August 2025 the German Federal Court of Justice (BGH) ruled (ref. VIII ZR 250/23) that clients remain responsible even if they have delegated the clearing and gritting duty to a specialist company. This raises the bar for proof: winter service businesses must be able to document every job completely and reliably. Lensus does this automatically with GPS, timestamp and photo.
